Version 4.0 also allows for quick-fire messaging from within the application by simply tapping and swiping on a person’s name to bring you to a messaging window. The revamped application has a brand new UI that looks more in tune with the Windows Phone app. The turnaround time has been pretty quick for the company since it has only been about a week since the redesigned app hit the Google Play Store. These updates have been appended to the application after tons of user feedback to Skype, the team says. The service has also improved dialogue translations for Russian, Brazilian Portuguese as well as Traditional Chinese. Similarly, a bug that did not allow users to make video calls in version 3.2 has been fixed as well. Skype has also addressed a bug that did not allow users to go online or make and receive calls if their status was last set to offline in version 3.2 when they updated the application to version 4.0.
